It is really important to be able to have credit. Credit essentially allows you to function in society.
If you do not have credit, it becomes much more difficult to get things done.
If you do not already have a credit card from a major lender, like MasterCard or Visa, you should get one. It is really easy to apply for one. All that you need to do is to do search on the internet using your search engine of choice (like Google or Bing) and you will find many different online credit card application forms. Look for one that has low interest. Fill out the form and, more than likely, you will find out very quickly if you application was accepted. Having a credit card will save you from a lot of difficulties.
Here are a few examples of how not having a major credit card can impact your life. When you are renting a car on vacation, they will ask for a credit card. When you are staying at a hotel, typically, they will ask to have a credit card on file for incidentals. When you are renting an apartment, you will need to have the utilities turned on, such as gas, electricity, cable television, and telephone. All of these utilities will ask for a credit card. If you do not have a credit card, then you will be forced to put up some cash as a reserve. The reserve protects the company that you are working with from any kind of loss or damage that you might cause. It also can protect them in the event that you are unable to pay your bill for whatever reason.
If you have a credit card, all of those problem disappear. So as you can see, having a credit card eliminates those potentially embarrassing situations and allows you to function more easily within society. Just remember to use the card wisely, otherwise, you might end up looking for one of those bad credit loans.
