How do you keep your toys organized?  Many large families struggle with the challenges of keeping their children‘s toys organized and off the floor.  However, this can be hard to do without the right tools and methods.  Here’s a brief guide to help you get started.

First, you need to the right tools.  What you need will vary based on what sort of toys your children have and your budget.  But don’t worry!  There are several low cost ways you can quickly get your children to keep their toys picked up.

One method most parents overlook is the humble toy hammock.  This simple device makes it easy to toss stuffed animals up and out of the way.  Toy hammock prices are usually very low, making this an easy to obtain and use tool for the intrepid parent.

Another method for stuffed animal organization is the toy chain.  This hangs from the ceiling and allows the child to clip his or her stuffed animals on.  It looks cute and kids love it.  One brand you may want to consider is the Chain Gang toy organizer.

If your child gets easily overwhelmed at the prospect of picking up, a traditional toy box is your best option.  This allows the child to quickly toss in all of her toys without overthinking it.  This is perfect for the child who needs less choices in order to focus and be productive.

On the other hand, if your child dumps out the toy box in a search for one or two toys, a toy bin organizer may be right for you.  This allows the child to separate small toys into bins for easy access.  These are a little bit of an investment, but if it fits your child’s personality, it’s worth it!  You can also use bins on the bottom shelves of a bookshelf for a cheaper alternative.
