Even though far more travelers than in the past are utilising the web to reserve holiday accommodation in some ways picking the right hotel is just as difficult as ever. Ive often found that there’s just too many options to select from, particularly if you’re looking in any major city.

One other issue is that if you have never been to the city previously and you’re new to the layout it is often really tough to determine if the hotel is in the centre of the action or not. Here are a couple factors I try to look for whenever booking a hotel.

The location is really important when it comes to hotels and it has a greater impact on price compared to any other factor. It is well known that staying in the city centre will undoubtedly be more expensive than outside the city, there is however usually a good reason for this. Travelers typically don’t take into account the extra transport costs with commuting to the key sight-seeing opportunities each day, this is also true if you need to travel by taxi cab because they often like to exploit tourists.

A very important factor which i know makes a big difference to hotel price is the period you book for as I realised recently when searching for Chicago hotels. Travelers generally are aware of low and peak season rates however did you know that reserving from Tuesday to Wednesday for the majority of hotels is usually as much as 45% cheaper in comparison to the weekend break? I believe it’s really worth considering taking your getaway at a time when most people are at work as the price savings can be significant.

I also always try and book only hotels which have exactly the amenities I want. One example is it may be nice when the hotel you’re looking into incorporates a free of charge on-site health club but you can bet it is been added into the total room rate. In my circumstances it’s only about paying for the necessary facilities i need and not one thing more. I really hope these guidelines help you locate the perfect hotel.
