Metal carports are one of the best types of carports to get especially if you live in an area with high winds and lots of rain and snow. The carports can be made into any style or size that you like.
You can make them so that they just cover your car or you can make them large enough to keep other things under it as well as your car.
Some other factors to think about when constructing metal carports are where you will put it. Should you build a free standing one separate from the house or should it be connected? With something like this you have to determine the type of weather you normally have if you have a lot of snowy or rainy days you may want to consider building it right next to the house preferable near the entrance to your home. This way it will allow you to get to your car without getting wet or covered in snow. However if you have more days that are nice a separate carport may be desirable to you.
Another thing to think about is the amount of materials you will need for the project. Having a free standing carport is going to take more materials then one that is connected to the house therefore will cost you more money. Now for the next phase, building the carport. This can go very quick and easy if you know what you are doing. As long as you have some kind of plan drawn up or if you are following step by step directions given to you then you should be able to have the project done in a weekend.
Once the carport is built you will be thanking yourself a lot come winter time and you no longer have to fuss with all the snow that is built up on top of your car.
